School Description

Hook Jr. High School opened December, 1960 as part of the Victor Valley Union High School District. The school was named in honor of Apple Valley resident Imogene Garner Hook, who spent 26 years on the school board. The school was build to hold 450 students. In previous years Hook Jr. High School has served anywhere from 450-1200 students, it currently serves 700 students. At this time several programs are housed within our walls. We currently serve the following programs: regular education and special education (RSP, SDC and SH).

Hook Jr. High School is the "Home of the Wranglers" and we are not just a team of educators but a family.

We offer many opportunities for our students to reach their goals as they enjoy their middle school years. Some of those opportunities may be within the school day and others through extended day after school.

Hook's students may join the After School Program (ASES) in which they may receive extra support in all academic subject areas 5 days a week as well as to participate in extra curricular activities including sports.
